Application Security
Securing internally developed applications is often more than just desireable -
it is enforced by third parties (regulators, investors, etc.). These third
parties want to make sure that systems are secure. IT managers want to keep to
their project timelines without investing labor in writing what they can easily
purchase.
There are always systems that need to be written, enhancements to be made, and
issues to be resolved. Therefore, writing infrastructure pieces is not usually
be best use of in-house resources. Their domain knowledge should be leveraged
by having them focus on software that is unique to the company. Just like you
would buy an email client rather that write one, application security should be
purchased. There is nothing to be gained in taking the time to write one
yourself. This is true of all infrastructure components, unless there is
something very unique about your company that justifies the investment.
Our application security system consists of the following components:
-
COM and web service components to be used by your developers while writing
in-house applications.
-
Administrative system (web-based) for configuring permissions to your
applications
The COM components can be used with any COM-compliant language (Visual Basic 6,
ASP, etc.) while the web service components can be used with any
technology that can make HTTP calls (.Net languages like C# and VB.NET, ASP,
JSP, BizTalk, etc.). The system is very flexible, friendly, easy to learn,
rock-solid, and most of all: Secure.
The administrative part of the system can be handled by humans via the web-based
user interface or programatically, if you prefer. The system is completely
designed to suite your needs.
Wether your team is developing web applications, batch applications,
smart-clients, or web services our application security system will help you
secure your applications fast.
